MY LOST FRIEND

How we used to have fun when we were young
How we used to laugh out all day long
How you used to be there to make me strong
We drew apart from each other for more than a mile
That is when you were swept away
And never saw you till this day
I guess I will never see you again
But deep inside my heart a place remains for you
Deep within me you would always be alive
In the very depth of my heart we will never part ways
You have moved on to the next world
A world of total peace
A world of absolute freedom
A world created for us by our maker
Sometimes I wish you were here
To help me do the right things
To help me be a better person
And not this self I have become
Mostly having no control
Certain times I feel you are looking at me
But I can not tell what you say
My dear friend, if I had known it was going to end this way
I would have spent the last days with you till we part ways
You are the first and true friend I ever had
Now, there is no more you and I am very sad
Why did it have to be so early
Why did it have to be so soon
When death laid its icy cold fingers on you
Ah, when sickness took you from me
I was really hurt when I heard you were a gonner
It was so hard for me to believe
I felt like I was being deceived
I never even got the chance to say goodbye
Well, I guess I might have said it before you passed
Where ever you are RICHARD I hope you have found
the comfort ,freedom, peace and rest.
